Les sceaux byzantins du Musée archéologique d'İstanbul

İstanbul Research Institute in collaboration with the İstanbul Archaeological Museums has recently published Le sceaux byzantins du Musée archéologique d’İstanbul from the İRI Publications, Special Series that documents for the first time the whole collection of Byzantine lead seals in the İstanbul Archaeological Museums. Edited by Prof. Jean-Claude Cheynet, Turan Gökyıldırım and Dr. Vera Bulgurlu, the book covers more than a thousand lead seals bearing the names, titles and the offices of Byzantine people, thus providing historians an immense source of information on family relations, institutions, army, churches and monasteries, and trade.
